Patient Dies After Practitioner Allegedly Injects Her With Turmeric

Official details are sketchy but friends and family of a young woman from the San Diego area are mourning her death after she died, allegedly at the hands of her “holistic” healer. The healer, who has not been publicly identified, allegedly injected the woman with turmeric after she sought treatment for an unknown illness.

The woman, Jade Erick, was 30 years old at the time of her death.

California is one of the 19 or so states that officially licenses naturopaths but since investigators have so far refused to name the practitioner who allegedly injected the patient with the turmeric, it is unknown if the person is actually a licensed naturopath or some other type of “holistic” practitioner.

Much of what is publicly ‘known” about the case comes a single report by a San Diego TV station. In that report it was claimed that The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s office confided to a reporter that the patient died of anoxic encephalopathy.  The ME’s office has not officially made any statement that I can find. The TV station has not identified the person who tipped off its reporter.

While some people who claim to have known Erick have posted publicly on social media about her death, her immediate family has, to the best of my knowledge, not said anything. No information about funeral or memorial arrangements were announced.
