Washington State Department of Health officials announced yesterday that they have suspended King County massage therapist Matthew Thomas Boldt following an allegation of sexual assault by a client.
The suspension goes into effect immediately and will stay in place pending further legal action.
The Department alleges that Boldt, who has been a licensed massage therapist in Washington for two years, sexually assaulted a female client during a session back in July. According to the official Statement Of Charges against him, Boldt confessed to the sexual assault during an interview with a Department of Health investigator.
As is normal in these types of cases, Boldt has twenty days to request a hearing to challenge the suspension of his license. Matthew Boldt cannot practice massage anywhere in Washington until the charges against him are resolved.
