Organic Tarragon Recalled – Salmonella

Organic Spices, Inc, has announced a recall of organic tarragon sold under the company’s DBA identity, Spicely Organics.

In the company’s press release about the recall, Spicely Organics said the jarred tarragon was sold to distributors in states including:

  •  Alaska
  • Arizona
  • California
  • Colorado
  • Hawaii
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Kansas
  • Maryland
  • Michigan
  • Minnesota
  • Nevada
  • New Mexico
  • New York
  • Ohio
  • Oregon
  • Pennsylvania
  • Texas
  • Virginia
  • Washington
  • Wisconsin

If you think you might have some of this on hand you’ll need to look for 0.4-ounce glass jars branded with the Spicely Organics name. The affected best-by code is:

  • “best if used by: 12/31/20 OTW100134”

The company says that it has received no reports of anyone actually being sickened by Salmonella in the tarragon but does acknowledge that the bacteria was found during routine sampling.

If you have any questions, or just need more information, you can contact the company directly at 1-510-440-1044 ext. 1001 from Monday to Friday.
