Fit & Active Chocolatey Chip Protein Meal Bars Sold At ALDI Stores Recalled

You won’t find any mention of this on ALDI’s official recall page but the company that makes Fit & Active Chocolatey Chip Protein Meal Bars, which are sold only at ALDI stores, has announced a recall of one production run of the snacks due to possible contamination with what is reportedly some kind of plastic.

In its press release about the recall, Leclerc Foods said that the recall was prompted by a consumer complaint of a “small piece of yellow plastic”. The customer was not injured by the apparent trash.

The company did not speculate on what the plastic might be or how it got into the food.

Recalled are:

  • Fit & Active Chocolatey Chip Protein Meal Bars with UPC Code 41498-18695 and a “best by” date of May 24, 2018

The potentially contaminated bars were offered at ALDI stores in these areas:

  • Connecticut
  • Delaware
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Massachusetts
  • Maryland
  • District of Columbia
  • New Jersey
  • New Hampshire
  • New York
  • North Carolina
  • Ohio
  • Oklahoma
  • Pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island
  • South Carolina
  • Tennessee
  • Texas
  • Vermont
  • Virginia
  • West Virginia
