Dollar General Corporation has announced a recall covering 1 lot of Clover Valley® Iced Oatmeal Cookies over concerns that the cookies could contain milk and tree nut ingredients not listed on the label.
In its press release announcing the recall, Dollar General Corporation explained that it learned of the problem from one of its stores’ employees, who realized that some packages of Clover Valley Iced Oatmeal Cookies actually held Coconut Macaroon Cookies. And that is a problem, says the company, because the macaroon cookies are made with dairy and nut ingredients that are not listed on the oatmeal cookies’ label.
The company that actually manufactures the cookies has confirmed the mistake.
Neither the company nor the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, has logged any reports of anyone being injured or made ill by the snacks.
If you think you might have any of the recalled cookies on hand, look for a package like the one in the photo Dollar General provided. The packaging will bear this info:

Dollar General says the recalled cookies were only sold in Dollar General stores but were distributed to the following states: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI and WV.
If you do find these in your possession you can simply throw them out or take them to your nearest Dollar General, where you will be able to exchange your package for a new, correct one.
