Law enforcement officials in New Jersey announced Friday that acupuncturist Edward Raskin has been arrested after a former patient accused Raskin of sexual assault.
Almost nothing is known about the alleged victim–police haven’t even disclosed the person’s gender–but the alleged assault reportedly occurred back in December. We do know the person is an adult.
The alleged assault took place at Raskin’s office on Morris Avenue in Springfield, say police.
Raskin turned himself in last Thursday. If convicted, he could face as many as 10 years in prison.
According to New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, Edward Raskin has been a licensed acupuncturist in that state since April of 2002. His license, which isn’t set to expire until mid-2019, is still listed as “Active” as of my last check this afternoon.
