Traditional Medicinals Recalls Throat Coat Lemon Echinacea – Salmonella

Health Canada announced this week that Traditional Medicinals was recalling one production run of its Throat Coat Lemon Echinacea herbal tea product due to potential Salmonella contamination.

In its press release announcing the recall Health Canada explained that the recall was issued after tests performed by a supplier found Salmonella in a sample of the lemon myrtle leaf ingredient.

Traditional Medicinals recalls herbal tea for possible bacteria.

The product being recalled is:

  • Traditional Medicinals Throat Coat Lemon Echinacea herbal tea (NPN 80028539) Lot #019, Expiry date February 2021

This tea was sold nationwide and was available online and from stores like Amazon Canada, Bulk Barn, Loblaws, London Drugs and Walmart. If you have any on hand you are urged not to consume it. You may contact the company at 1-800-543-4372 for more information.
